Throbak has reproduced and improved the circuit of the original Colorsound Power Boost guitar effects pedal (also known by the name Colorsound Overdriver). The original was used by David Gilmour, Jeff Beck and other pros to become an integral part of 70's signature tones. The Colorsound Power Boost and Colorsound Overdriver were also favorites of Marc Bolan and is considered by many to be the best overdrive/booster ever made. Tones still in demand in the pro guitar shop of today.

This vintage circuit was made popular for it's ability to bring body, dimension and tonal flexibility to a single channel tube amp. This Silicon transistor circuit can give everything from a substantial and extremely transparent clean boost to all out silicon fuzz and every tonal variation in between. The flexible and interactive bass and treble controls can add treble bite and chime to a overly bassy amp or add a meaty low end to an amp that sounds too thin. This pedal is almost like it's own little amp in a box that will bring amazing clean and distorted tones to any tube amplifier.

In keeping with our Signature sound philosophy we have added several improvements and tweaks to the Overdrive Boost guitar effects pedals that let you tailor your own signature sound with this tonal giant. First we have added a master volume. The original Colorsound Power Boost and Colorsound Overdriver usually lacked a master volume control so we added one to the Overdrive Boost. As with the Throbak Fuzz Haze and Stone Bender a Pre Gain switch has been added giving more control to low note definition of distorted tones. Thirdly a switchable Germanium transistor has been paired with a Germanium diode and added to the circuit. The original circuit remains in tact but when switched on, the Germanium pair adds flexibility way beyond that of the original Colorsound Overdriver, adding the edgy, compressed distortion tones you can only get from Germanium.

In addition to these features each silicon transistor has it's own internal trim pot to ensure that each pedal is perfectly tuned.

When paired with a great non-master volume amp like the ThroBak 18 Watt Classic Combo, the ThroBak Overdrive Boost guitar effects pedals let you crank your amp to 10 and still play at bedroom levels, while keeping the great cranked tone. The Overdrive Boost effect pedal gives the same rich, complex tones usually only associated with an attenuator, but cheaper more compact and more tonally flexible when compared to an attenuator. The combination of the master volume and the Germanium pair gives this attenuator like effect. This attenuator like effect is only made possible with the ThroBak Germanium pair modification. The original unmodified Colorsound Overdriver circuit cannot duplicate this attenuator like effect with a non-master volume amp.

ThroBak guitar effects pedals Fuzz Haze, a recreation of the Germanium Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face. The original Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face was made famous by Jimi Hendrix and was favored by Eric Clapton, David Gilmour and countless others pro guitar players. These had the luxury of cherry picking the best pedals and then having them tweaked further by technicians like Roger Mayer that these players helped make famous.

The Fuzz Haze solves the quality problems of the originals with stringent quality control, component selection and user tweaks that were never available on the vintage Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face units. This level of detail goes into all ThroBak guitar effects pedals.

The Fuzz Haze offers up the same thick screaming Fuzz that drew Jimi Hendrix to the original Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face. Many Fuzz Face clones denude the circuit of the bass response that made the original such a powerhouse with a Stratocaster. We don't do this Fuzz Haze guitar effects pedals. Internal user adjustable pre gain and bias trim give you full control the character of the the fuzz and bass response.

As far as we can tell we are the only company offering a Dallas Range Master clone with a bias adjustment. This allows you to change the character of treble boost from loose to tight. Switchable range allows treble boost and mid boost germanium distortion. Throbak Electronics guitar effects pedals offers theStone Bender MKII Pro stompbox, a faithful tonal reproduction of the fabled 3 germanium Sola Sound Tone Bender MKii Professional used by Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.

We have added several features that allow you to customize the Stone Bender guitar effects pedal to create your own Signature Sound. Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Brian May had Roger Mayer and Peter Cornish customize their effects to create their own signature sound. These players could not easily get these custom tones from the pro guitar shop of the day. But now we give you this same pro level of control to the base level Sola Sound Tone Bender MKii circuit with the ThroBak Stone Bender guitar effects pedal.

A pre gain switch makes this a great overdrive pedal as well as a monster high gain fuzz box that gives endless sustain and usable feedback. Also included is a user adjustable internal bias pot.

We also included a new feature, the Tone Color switch. It takes a touch of treble edge off the tone when activated. It is reminiscent of the tones from the better three knob Color Sound Tone Bender when activated.

The original Sola Sound Tone Bender MKii circuit remains. However ThroBak guitar effects pedals have tamed these inconsistencies of the vintage Sola Sound Tone Bender MKii and put the tone changing variables within your control so you can create your own signature sound with this classic ThroBak guitar effects pedal.
