The Gladius Rocket is an evolution of Trainwreck's Rocket. The template for this amp is VOX AC30 Top Boost.Hot Rodded. It’s a classically British Class–A–sounding amp with three ECC83s (12AX7s) in the preamp and four EL84s in the power stage. ALL NOS!
The Rocket has the latest technology for lossless power reduction on board. A VARIAC and a post-phase inverter Master Volume tuned by Ken Fisher.
As Ken has always written, the choice of enclosure and speakers used is very important to how a Trainwreck will respond, feel and sound! For this reason, Gladius offers the lightweight and fast resonating cabs (to get full and rich tones even at lower volumes) with a strong burn-in for all speakers.
The 1x12" Cab has a Fane A30 Alnico speaker which brings exactly the mid-breath you want out from a Trainwreck with the organic feel of Alnico speakers. If you want more power choose the Fane A60 speaker.
The 2x12" Cab has strong aged Blue Bull Dogs and is a must have Vintage Alnico tone, we so much love from 60’s VOX amps. These speakers perfectly harmonizes the character of the EL84 power amplifier. Choose 2x12“Fane A60 speakers if you want more output.
The 2x12“ Cab is also available in blond tolex!
Gladius guarantees a big tone out of the cabs from just 0.1 watts!!
